The Lagos State Police Command has emphasised its commitment to a thorough investigation into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, stating that they will not engage in conjecture or guesswork.
VerseNews reports that the state police public relations officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, on Thursday, December 28, in an interview with a Punch correspondent, reiterated that the command had not received the report of the autopsy conducted on MohBad from the pathologists.
He added that the on going investigation will be concluded after the autopsy result has been released.
Hundeyin said: “We’re not the pathologists who carried out the autopsy.
“When they (the pathologists) give us their report, we’ll conclude our investigation. For now, that’s what we’re waiting for. Except they want us to do guesswork, we can’t guess; we need to get the report and see the content of the result and we don’t have it yet.”
Mohbad’s sudden demise on September 12 sparked widespread controversy, prompting the formation of a specialized investigative team by the police.
Initially announced that the autopsy was completed, Hundeyin later revealed in November that the report was still pending, leaving the public eagerly awaiting further developments.
