Lagos Train Crash: 32 Survivors Discharged, Others In Stable Medical Condition

Report from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) disclosed that 32 victims of the train and BRT bus accident have been discharged from different hospitals.
VerseNews Nigeria reports that the report was confirmed by the State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi during a news conference on Friday in Lagos while updating on the accident.
Abayomi said a total number of 102 passengers were recorded in the accident, six persons have been confirmed dead while others in the hospital are presently in stable medical condition.
He said that 19 survivors of the accident were discharged from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH); five from the Toll Gate Trauma Centre and eight from Orile-Agege General Hospital.
The Commissioner noted that some persons volutered to donate their blood for the victims. He commended the blood donors.

”People donated 256 voluntary units of blood and 40 units were transfused yesterday,” Abayomi said.
Speaking on the treatment bills of the patients, Abayomi assured that the state government will clear all the bills.
He commended the staff of LASUTH and other health workers for their prompt response to the accident victims.
This Online News Media reported that BRT bus conveying passengers was crushed by a train in attempt to cross the rail that links Ikeja GRA.
According to the earlier update from LASUTH, 6 persons were confirmed dead, 42 victims sustained moderate injuries, 29 passengers with serious injuries and 8 passengers with mild injuries.
