Saturday March 18, 2023 has been scheduled for the governors and state assembly members election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
This Online News Media reports that Nigeria citizens in 28 states out of the 36 states of the Federation will be going out to vote for their choice of candidate as their civic responsibility.
The 28 states are – Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, Zamfara.

It is important to note that election will not be conducted in other 8 states of the Federation because of court judgments that nullified the elections of their governors at different times in the past.
The 8 states where governorship election won’t hold are Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Osun and Ondo.
According to INEC statistics, thousands of candidates from different political parties will be competing for 993 State House of Assembly seats on Saturday.
The FCT will not witness both elections because it is run by a minister, who is appointed by the President, with laws made by the National Assembly.
