Man United Confirms Antony Returns To Training, Available For Selection

Manchester United has announced that the Brazil international, Antony will resume training and will be available for selection for Saturday match against Crystal Palace.

VerseNews earlier reported that United in a statement announced that Antony will stay away from the club until further notice

According to the club, Antony has not been suspended but placed on a leave of absence on full pay to give him time to defend himself against the claims.

However, in a recent statement, the club has announced he will resume training while the police investigations continues.

The statement reads; “Since allegations were first made in June, Antony has co-operated with police inquiries in both Brazil and the UK, and he continues to do so”.

“As Antony’s employer, Manchester United has decided that he will resume training at Carrington, and be available for selection, while police inquiries proceed. This will be kept under review pending further developments in the case”.

“As a club, we condemn acts of violence and abuse. We recognise the importance of safeguarding all those involved in this situation, and acknowledge the impact these allegations have on survivors of abuse”.
