Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has extended condolences to the grieving family of the late Nigerian music artist Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba.

VerseNews reported that Mohbad tragically passed away on September 12, 2023, and was laid to rest in his hometown of Ikorodu, Lagos.

The untimely death of Mohbad has deeply affected the nation, especially the youth, who were shocked by the circumstances surrounding his demise.

Disturbing videos showing mistreatment by his former music label executives circulated on social media, sparking public outrage.

Peter Obi expressed his sorrow over the loss of the promising young artist and called for a thorough investigation by government and law enforcement agencies into the circumstances of Mohbad’s death, emphasizing the need to uncover the truth.

Obi stated, “On behalf of my family, I extend my condolences to the mother and entire family of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, Mohbad, over his painful demise. I understand how difficult it is for parents to lose a child, especially one with such a promising future.”

He further urged, “I implore the government and security agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding his untimely death comprehensively, leaving no stone unturned. His passing represents a significant loss to our growing music and entertainment industry.”

In conclusion, Peter Obi offered prayers for Mohbad’s eternal rest and strength for his parents, family, and fans, saying, “I pray that God grants him eternal rest and provides his parents, family, and countless fans with the strength to bear his irreplaceable loss.”
