Galatasaray are close to finalising a deal to sign Victor Osimhen on a permanent basis, with “fresh talks” scheduled with Napoli in order to reach a full agreement.

The Nigeria international has already “agreed personal terms with Galatasaray” and is now expected to make a permanent return to the Istanbul giants after a “successful loan spell” last season.

Al-Hilal were eager to bring Osimhen to Saudi Arabia with a staggering “€160 million” contract offer, but the 26-year-old has “rejected” the move in favour of Galatasaray.

Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United were also linked with the striker in recent months, but Osimhen has “snubbed the chance to move to the Premier League.”

Although the final deal is yet to be sealed, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed both clubs are deep in talks. He shared on X:
“New direct talks underway today for Osimhen deal ahead of crucial week.
Galatasaray bid on the table: €40m now plus €17.5m and €17.5m in installments. Napoli are open to this solution but insist on different payment terms and bank guarantees.”

Osimhen’s current contract with Napoli includes a “€75m release clause,” and the Italian side wants the fee paid in “as few payments as possible.”

After scoring “37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances” for Galatasaray last season, the Turkish champions are determined to keep him, while Napoli have identified Darwin Núñez as a possible replacement.
