Former President Goodluck Jonathan has said the Nigeria as a country is doomed if the ballot papers cannot decide who leads as citizens make efforts the vote for their leaders.
VerseNews Nigeria reports that Jonathan made the statement on Saturday’s governorship and states of house assembly elections after he cast his vote at the polling unit in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area (LGA) of Bayelsa State alongside his wife, Patience Jonathan.
He added that efforts by Nigerians to vote and choose their leader in line with the requirement of democracy using ballot papers must decide who leads us not the judicial system.

He said; “I believe that Nigerians have decided that they must select their leaders. Any country that the ballot papers cannot select its leaders, that country is doomed.”
“So, we must form a system where the ballot papers must decide who leads us, either at the level of the president, governors, and at the level of parliamentarians; not the courts. The ballot papers should select the leaders.”
