Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have recorded a major breakthrough in Borno State, rescuing 86 kidnapped victims, destroying a Boko Haram/ISWAP camp, and arresting 29 suspected logistics suppliers during coordinated military operations in Buratai–Kamuya and Mangada.
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have achieved another major success in the fight against terrorism, rescuing 86 kidnapped victims and dismantling a Boko Haram/ISWAP camp in the Buratai–Kamuya axis of Borno State.
According to Lt. Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, the operation was executed on Sunday, November 9, 2025, by the 135 Special Forces Battalion following intelligence alerts that terrorists were abducting civilians along the Buratai–Kamuya route.
Troops at Echo 1 in Dutse Kura reportedly came under heavy attack around 3:52 p.m., prompting the deployment of a Quick Response Force. The reinforcement successfully repelled the terrorists and pursued them toward the Mangari axis.

During the pursuit, the insurgents attempted to flee with abducted civilians in two vehicles. However, troops laid an ambush, forcing the terrorists to abandon the victims.

A thorough search of the area led to the discovery of a Boko Haram/ISWAP camp, where 86 captives — men, women, and children — were rescued unharmed.
Recovered items included:
- 1 AK-47 rifle
- 5 magazines loaded with 73 rounds
- 4 PKT ammunition belts
- 5 civilian vehicles
- 5 motorcycles
- 8 bicycles
- 2 tricycles
The camp and all discovered structures were subsequently destroyed.
In a separate operation the same day, troops stationed at Delta 1 in Mangada arrested 29 suspected Boko Haram logistics suppliers, including 8 identified couriers, en route to Chilaria.
Seized items from the suspects included two pickup vans and a tricycle loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), 38 jerry cans of fuel (approximately 1,000 litres), engine oil, medical consumables, food items, and two new gun-truck tyres.
Military sources confirmed that all the suspects and recovered items have been handed over for further investigation.

The Military High Command commended the troops for their professionalism and gallantry, urging them to sustain ongoing efforts to cut off terrorist supply chains and deny them freedom of action across the North-East.
