The Opay USSD code is a short code used to access Opay services through a mobile phone without an internet connection. The USSD code for Opay is *955#.

This code allows customers to perform a range of banking transactions, including:

  • Money Transfers: You can transfer money to other Opay users or other bank accounts using *955#.
  • Airtime and Data Purchase: Need to recharge your phone? The Opay code lets you buy airtime for yourself or others.
  • Balance Inquiry: You can also check your Opay account balance by dialing the relevant code.
  • OTP Requests: Obtain a one-time password (OTP) for funding accounts or other security purposes.
  • Electricity Bill Payment: Pay your electricity bills conveniently using the USSD code.
  • Funding Betting Accounts: If you’re into sports betting, you can use the code to fund your betting wallet.

  • To Check Opay Account Balance, Dial *955*0#
  • For Opay ATM Card Activation, dial *955*03121#.
  • To Get Opay OTP, dial *955*010#.
  • For Transfers, dial *955*2*AMOUNT*ACCOUNT NUMBER# 
  • For airtime (self/account owner) dial *955*3*AMOUNT# 
  • For airtime (other number) dial *955*3*AMOUNT*MOBILE NUMBER# 
  • For data, dial *955*4*AMOUNT*MOBILE NUMBER#
  • For balance enquiry dial, *955*0# 
  • To block and unblock account, dial *955*131#
  • To block Card, dial *955*132# 
  • To fund betting account, dial *955*5#

How To Activate Opay USSD

Activating the USSD code for your Opay account is straightforward:

  • Dial *955# on your mobile phone.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to choose the service you need.

Note:

You can use the USSD Opay code on any mobile network in Nigeria. Ensure you have a registered Opay account or create one using the same code.

How To Transfer Money on Opay Using the USSD Code

The Opay USSD code for transfer is *955*1#. Follow the steps below to transfer money from your Opay account to another account.

  • Dial *955# on your mobile phone.
  • Select option 1 for “Transfer.”
  • Select option 1 to transfer to an Opay account or option 2 to another bank account.
  • Enter the recipient’s ten digits account number and and select their bank, e.g. Access Bank, GT Bank, Zenith Bank. This is if you pick option 2 earlier. 
  • Input the amount you want to send.
  • Confirm the transaction details.
  • Enter your PIN to authorize the transfer.

Upon success, both you and the recipient will receive notifications.

Alternatively, dial *955*2*Amount*Account Number#, select the bank, and input your Opay PIN to authorize the transfer. 

For example, if you want to transfer ₦5000 to 1234567890 Zenith Bank account, dial *955*2*5000*1234567890#, select Zenith Bank, and enter your PIN.

You’ll then receive a notification about your transaction’s status, whether successful or failed. But if you do things right, your transaction will be successful. 

How To Buy Airtime Using Opay USSD Code

To buy airtime for your number or recharge another number on Opay using the USSD code, here are the steps to follow:

  • Dial *955# on your mobile phone.
  • Choose option 2 for “Buy Airtime.”
  • Select the recipient’s network (MTN, Glo, Airtel, or 9mobile).
  • Enter the recipient’s phone number or your number
  • Specify the airtime amount.
  • Confirm the transaction details.
  • Enter your PIN to authorize the transaction.

The recipient’s phone will be credited, and you’ll receive a confirmation notification.

Alternatively, you can dial *955*3*airtime amount*phone number#, then hit send. For example, to recharge ₦100 on 0801234567, dial *955*3*100*0901234567#

You’ll be prompted to confirm the transaction details and input your PIN to authorize the transaction. 

How To Buy Data on Opay Using The USSD Code

  • Similar to sending airtime, dial *955#.
  • Select the relevant option for data purchase.
  • Follow the prompts to choose the amount of data bundle you want to buy, e.g., 500 MB, 1GB, 2GB, and so on. 
  • Input the recipient’s phone number. This means the number you want to buy the data to; it can be yours or someone else’s number.
  • Confirm the details and authorize the transaction with your PIN.

How To Fund Betting Accounts on Opay using Using the USSD Code

You can fund your betting account within seconds using the Opay USSD code. To do this, follow the steps below: 

  • Dial *955# on your registered mobile number.
  • Select ‘Betting and Electricity’ – option 3
  • Choose option 1 to fund “Fund Betting Account.”
  • Select your betting platform from the list (e.g., Sportybet, Bet9ja, 1xBet, etc).
  • Input the amount you want to deposit.
  • Input your Opay PIN to authorize the transaction.

You will receive a notification that your transaction has been successful

How To Pay Electricity Bill Using Opay USSD Code

To pay your electricity bill using the USSD code for Opay, here are the  steps to follow; 

  • Dial *955# on your registered mobile number.
  • Select option 3 for “Betting & Electricity.”
  • Choose option 2 for “Pay Electricity Bill.”
  • You will be asked to enter your electricity provider account details and meter serial/ID number.
  • Input the details requested when prompted.
  • Confirm the details and payment amount.
  • Enter your Opay PIN to authorize the payment.

You will receive a notification once the payment is successful.

How To Check Your Opay Account Balance Using *955#

There is no need to open the app or have data. In just a few taps from your phone’s dial pad, you can check your Opay balance for free anytime, anywhere by following these steps:

  • Dial *955# on your phone.
  • Select the 4th option, “Check Balance,” from the menu.
  • Alternatively, you can dial *955*4# directly to check your balance.
  • Enter your Opay PIN when prompted.

Your current Opay wallet balance will be instantly displayed on your phone screen.

How To Add Money To Your Opay Account

Here are the steps to add money to your Opay account using the USSD code:

  • Dial *955# on your phone.
  • Select the “Funding” option.
  • Choose how you want to fund your account – bank transfer, card payment, or cash deposit at an agent location.
  • You’ll need to enter your bank details, like account number and amount of funding, by bank transfer.
  • For card payments, input your card details and amount.
  • After entering the payment details, input your Opay PIN for verification.

You will receive a confirmation message once the funding is successful. The amount will be instantly reflected in your Opay wallet balance or within a few minutes, depending on the payment method.

How To Request An Opay Card using *955#

The Opay card allows you to withdraw funds directly from your Opay wallet balance at an ATM machine. You can also perform other transactions like making purchases online, buying airtime/data, and so on. 

You can easily order either or both the virtual and physical Opay cards using the USSD code; however, you have to pay a fee for it.

Below are the steps to request an Opay card:

  • Dial *955#
  • Select option 8 for “Opay Card.”
  • Choose option 1 if you want the virtual card or option 2 for the physical card, which will be delivered to you physically. 
  • You’ll then be directed to the Opay app to place an order.

Note that before you can request for Opay card, you must have a verified Opay account and have sufficient funds in your balance. 

Once your request is successful, the physical card will be delivered to you within 7 to 14 days; while virtual card will be available immediately for use on the app.

How To Save Money Using Opay USSD

If you have small funds you want to save quickly, follow the steps below to save your funds using the Opay USSD:

  • Dial *955#
  • Select option 6 for the “Savings” option
  • Input the amount you want to save
  • Enter your Opay PIN when prompted

How To Withdraw Funds Using Opay USSD

Here are the simple steps to withdraw money from your Opay account using the USSD code:

  • Dial *955#
  • Choose the “Withdraw” option, which is Number 7.
  • Enter the Opay agent/POS phone number from which you want to withdraw the cash.
  • Enter the amount you want to withdraw.
  • Input your Opay PIN when prompted.

How To Add Money To Your Opay Account

Here are the steps to add money to your Opay account using the USSD code:

  • Dial *955# on your phone.
  • Select the “Add money” option.
  • Choose how you want to add money to your account (bank transfer, card payment, or cash deposit at an Opay agent location).
  • You’ll be asked to enter your bank details, such as account number and amount of funding or by bank transfer.
  • Enter your card details and amount if you’re paying with a card.
  • After entering the payment details, input your Opay PIN for verification.
  • You will receive a notification that confirms the funding is successful.

The deposited amount will instantly be reflected in your Opay wallet balance within a few minutes, depending on the payment method.

Note: You’ll be charged #10 for each transaction via the OPay USSD code.
