  • Victor Osimhen, Mohamed Salah, and Achraf Hakimi are the top three contenders for the 2025 CAF Men’s Player of the Year, as CAF announces nominees across all men’s categories ahead of the awards in Morocco.

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has unveiled the top nominees in all men’s categories for the 2025 CAF Awards, set to take place on 19 November 2025 in Rabat, Morocco, starting at 19:00 local time (18:00 GMT). The ceremony will celebrate Africa’s finest football talents over the past year.

Leading the race for Men’s Player of the Year are some of the continent’s brightest stars: Victor Osimhen (Nigeria/Galatasaray), Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool), and Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/Paris Saint-Germain). Osimhen’s commanding performances for club and country this year have made him a strong contender for the prestigious award.

CAF also revealed nominees in six other men’s categories, including Goalkeeper of the Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year, National Team of the Year, and Club of the Year. Nominees are recognized for their achievements between 6 January and 15 October 2025.

  • Interclub Player of the Year: Fiston Mayele (DR Congo/Pyramids), Mohamed Chibi (Morocco/Pyramids), Oussama Lamlioui (Morocco/RS Berkane)
