The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has expressed his sadness over lost lives and those injured during the 2023 elections in Nigeria.
VerseNews Nigeria reports that Obi in a tweet on Sunday morning, March 19 sympathizes with Nigerians who lost their lives and those who were injured while participating for an election he said supposed to be ‘a simple election’.
While praying for the injured ones, he prayed that God should also help Nigeria out of the perilous and risky situation.
He wrote; “With sadness, my heart goes deeply to the Nigerians who lost their lives and those who were maimed for participating in such a simple thing as an election. My prayers and wishes for a quick recovery of the injured.”

“My sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. May God Almighty grant them eternal rest, and grant their families the fortitude to bear their sad irreplaceable loss.
I pray earnestly that God Almighty will save and help Nigeria out of this precarious situation.”
This Online News media observed that there have being several reports of death and injuries rising from attacks from thugs of opposition parties across the country.
Response from security agents have being rated poor as many laments they are not always on ground during attacks by thugs.
