- Lagos police have arrested popular TikToker Peller after a viral livestream showed him driving recklessly and crashing his car, with authorities warning influencers against promoting dangerous behaviour online.

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested and detained a 20-year-old social media influencer, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, following a viral video showing him driving recklessly on a Lagos road and crashing his vehicle during a live stream.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025, was broadcast in real time on social media and quickly sparked outrage and concern among the public. Police authorities said the action endangered not only the suspect but also other road users.
Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, described Peller’s conduct as a “dangerous and unlawful act.” She said the behaviour, as captured in the viral footage, posed grave risks to public safety and warranted immediate police intervention.
The influencer is currently in custody, while detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash and the video shared online.

The police stated that at the conclusion of investigations, the outcome would be made public and the suspect charged in accordance with the law.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, issued a stern warning to social media influencers, content creators and members of the public against using online platforms to promote reckless, dangerous or criminal behaviour.

CP Jimoh stressed that the Command would not tolerate actions capable of causing loss of life or disturbing public peace, adding that offenders would face the full weight of the law. He also urged motorists to obey traffic regulations, reaffirming the police’s commitment to public safety and order across the state.
The Lagos State Police Command further assured residents of sustained vigilance and proactive policing to curb hazardous online stunts and prevent avoidable tragedies on the roads.
