S’Court Verdict: Nigeria Bigger Loser, Not Me – Atiku

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 election, has expressed his belief that Nigeria as a nation is in a dire state.
VerseNews reports that this statement is coming 72 hours following the Supreme Court’s dismissal of his appeal and the affirmation of President Bola Tinubu’s victory.
Atiku sought to present academic records from Chicago State University as fresh evidence, but the court rejected his appeal, which alleged certificate forgery against President Tinubu.
During a press conference, Atiku emphasized that the real loser in this court verdict is Nigeria itself, stating that the country is in a precarious situation where criminal acts are seemingly rewarded.
“The bigger loss is not mine but for Nigeria. If the Supreme Court implies that crime is good and should be rewarded, then Nigeria has lost, and the country is doomed irrespective of who occupies the office,” he said.
