Secondus responds to Wike’s “expired politicians” label, denouncing the remarks as politically motivated and misleading.
Former PDP National Chairman Uche Secondus criticizes FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for labeling him and others as “expired politicians” over support for Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
VerseNews recalls that last week, Secondus and fellow leaders declared their backing for Fubara and urged President Tinubu to intervene.
Wike’s remarks during a media chat drew strong rebuke from Secondus, who condemned Wike’s portrayal of them as “expired politicians” and “political buccaneers,” calling it “appalling” and “unfortunate.”
In response, Secondus, through his media aide Ike Abonyi, criticized Wike’s remarks, describing him as a “showman” known for twisting facts for political gain.
“A showman noted for his double-speak, twisting of facts to score some cheap political points, and someone who stands the truth on its head,” he replied.
Secondus expressed deep disappointment in Wike’s characterization of respected political figures from Rivers State and termed Wike’s comments as “appalling and rather unfortunate, more so he characterised our revered political leaders of Rivers State, casting them in a bad light by referring to them as transitional politicians, political vampires, and political buccaneers,”
