‘Seek For Redress In Court’- INEC Chairman Tells Aggrieved Parties

Professor Mahood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has encouraged the aggrieved Political Parties who are not satisfied with the announced presidential election results should seek for redress in court of law.

Professor Mahood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has encouraged the aggrieved Political Parties who are not satisfied with the announced presidential election results should seek for redress in court of law.

VersNews Nigeria reports that Mahood through his Chief Press security, Rotimi Oyekanmi in a statement said the claims and allegations on result manipulations in favour of the All Progressive Party (APC) by the opposition parties should be presented to the court of law instead of inciting violence in the election processes.

Oyekanmi also said calling the INEC Chairman to resign from his position over they free and fair election conducted and results from each states does not apply to the process, adding that there are procedures for the party to follow if they aim to justify their claims.

The statement added that INEC cannot change the ongoing 2023 General election and the process cannot be stopped or changed. if the aggrieved parties feel there is no transparency or authentic in the results, then they are free to take the issue to court as no one can deny them that process.
