Tragedy Unfolds As Man Beheads Girlfriend In Bayelsa State, Details

A tragic incident occurred in the riverain community of Kabeama in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, where a man, identified as Tony, reportedly beheaded his girlfriend, Maxuel Ebibraladei.

VerseNews reports that the incident took place around 3 am on a Saturday, and the severed head of the deceased was discovered by neighbours at dawn.

The couple had a child together, and the motive behind the gruesome act is still unknown.

The remains of Maxuel Ebibraladei have been transferred to the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, as the community mourns the loss of the young woman.

A resident who spoke with Daily Trust said, “We don’t know what happened between the two lovers that would make him cut off the head of his girlfriend and mother of his child.

“The two of them were quiet and easy-going. We are at a loss as to what went wrong. The headless corpse of the lady was evacuated and deposited at the mortuary of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa, while the arrested boyfriend is in custody of the police in Yenagoa.”

Tony was apprehended by residents before he could escape and has been handed over to the police.

The police confirmed the incident and stated that an official statement would be issued.
