Former U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that he would “go in and kill” Hamas if the militant group continues to carry out killings in Gaza, following reports of renewed violence despite a recent ceasefire agreement with Israel.
Trump issued the threat on Thursday via his Truth Social platform, saying:
“If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them.”
The statement comes days after Trump drew criticism for downplaying reports of public executions in Gaza, describing the victims as “very bad gangs.”

“That didn’t bother me much, to be honest with you,” Trump said during a cabinet meeting earlier in the week. “It’s a couple of very bad gangs — it’s very different than other countries.”
Since the U.S.-brokered 20-point ceasefire deal that led to a partial withdrawal of Israeli troops, Hamas has reportedly intensified its internal crackdown, executing alleged collaborators in Gaza’s war-torn streets.

Top U.S. Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper had earlier urged Hamas to stop targeting civilians and to comply fully with the ceasefire terms.
Trump, who recently visited Israel and Egypt to mark the truce, maintained that Hamas had expressed willingness to “stop the problems” in the region but warned that any continued violence could trigger direct intervention.

“They have been open about it, and we gave them an approval for a period of time,” he said aboard Air Force One.
