Ugandan athlete Benjamin Kiplagat, 34, has been found dead in Kenya, and reports suggest he was murdered.
Kiplagat, who represented Uganda in the 3,000m steeplechase at various international events, was discovered in a car on the outskirts of Eldoret in the Rift Valley.
The local police have launched an investigation into the incident, with initial findings suggesting a deep knife wound to his neck, indicating he was stabbed.
“An investigation has been launched and officers are on the ground pursuing leads,” local police commander Stephen Okal confirms.
