UN Secretary-General Announces Convoy Of 20 Trucks Taking Aid To Gaza

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced the dispatch of a 20-truck convoy from the Egyptian Red Crescent into Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians affected by the Israel and Hamas conflict.
He had earlier called for a “humanitarian ceasefire” and emphasized the need for continuous aid delivery to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Guterres highlighted the dire situation in the region, with thousands dead and over a million people displaced.
The conflict began in early October, with Hamas militants crossing into Israel, leading to casualties on both sides.
Diplomatic efforts have aimed at providing humanitarian aid to Gaza, which has been under an Israeli siege, with many homes damaged or destroyed.
Western leaders have generally supported Israel’s campaign against Hamas, while concerns persist about the well-being of civilians in Gaza.
