A final year student of the University of Bunin (UNIBEN) identified as ‘Desmond’ and popularly called ‘Mayor’ has been shot dead in his room at hall 3 of the school hostel.
VerseNews Nigeria reports that the student is the ‘Kegite chief’ of the popular Kegite Club formerly known as Palm Wine Drinkers Association,
He is said to be in the department of Public Administration and was shot at about 9 pm on April 4.

In a viral video of his lifeless body lying in his room sighted by this Online News Media, he was roughly shot at his face with his mouth wide opened.
His death which was alleged to a cultist attack have triggered fear among students living in the hostel.
At the time of filing this report, it was gathered that his remains had been moved into an ambulance to the mortuary at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital.
