UNILAG, LASU Announce New Resumption Date Over Election Postponement
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Lagos State University (LASU) has shifted the resumption date for the current academic session.

This Online News Media reports that the adjustment on the resumption date was link to the postponement of the governorship and state assembly elections rescheduled to hold on Saturday March 18, 2022.
The Federal Government had before the 2023 general election directed all students to of higher institutions across the country to vacate their schools.
Teachers and lecturers were also instructed to suspend teaching and related academic activities from Tuesday, February 21, 2023, to Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

UNILAG and LASU has in a statement informed the students and staff about the new resumption date of the academic activites.
However, UNILAG in a Facebook post on Friday said; “On behalf of the University Senate, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, has approved that the resumption of academic activities be postponed to Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
“However, all other activities of the university, including inaugural lectures and meetings (excluding teaching), should continue as scheduled.”
This was confirmed on Thursday March 9, by the Vice Chancellor and Chairman of the LASU Senate, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello who also said examinations should continue on Wednesday, March 22.
Students and staff of the schools were advised to stay calm and safe with the period.
