Angry villagers has stoned to death a suspected internet fraudster, also known as a ‘Yahoo boy,‘ was involved in a fatal accident that killed at least four people and several others injured in Akure, the Ondo State capital in Nigeria.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that the incident happened on Monday morning April 10 at Ikoji area of Akure.

Reporting on the accident, a residence who spoke to this Online News Meda on the condition of anonymity said the driver of the Toyota car was driving at a high speed while going through Ijo Mimo to the Sunday bus stop, Ijoka area of the town when his vehicle suddenly skidded off its lane and crushed the victims to death.

Some of the victims were on commercial motorcycles, known as okada, and they died immediately at the spot before they could be rushed to the hospital.

This Online News Media also gathered that the driver, suspected to be a Yahoo boy, was returning from Ijoka, where he had gone to see some of his friends when he lost control of the car and crashed into the victims.

Villagers who witness the accident immediately rushed the suspected yahoo boy and found some fetish items inside the vehicle which attracted other villagers.

In a video sighted by our Reporters, the angrily villagers beat the yahoo boy with stone, iron and other dangerous objects and unfortunately was killed.

“The mob action was due to the driver’s attitude after the incident because he showed no sign of remorse and attempted to run away from the scene of the accident,” an eyewitness told our Reporters.

However, the men of the state police command who arrived at the scene were able to rescue the driver from the mob and took the lifeless bodies of the victims to the morgue.
