Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the State’s Governor-Elect, Sim Fubara arrived at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Port Harcourt Harcourt for the presentation of the Certificate of Return.

VerseNews Nigeria reported that the INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Akpofure Rim-Rukeh announced that Fubara won in the 23 Local Government Areas of the state to emerge winner of the governorship election on March 18.

According to the result, Fubara polled a total of 302,614 votes to defeat his closet opponent Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 95,274 votes.

Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party (LP) came third with a total of 22,224 votes.
