In less than 48 Hours of being declared winner, the Abia State Governor-Elect, Alex Otti has begun his campaign to rebuild the state, promised to put together the ideas of the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that, Otti on live interview with ‘Channels TV’ on Thursday said his administration will cut down cost of governance by adopting the model used by Peter Obi when he held office as governor in Anambra State.

“My presidential candidate did very well in Anambra State because he reined in the cost of governance,”

“And it’s the same kind of model that we are going to run in Abia. There are only so many jobs you can create in the public sector,” Otti said.

He urged those with public fund to return it adding that to avoid being distracted on his plan to transform Abia, he won’t waste four or eight years chasing those who have stolen the state’s money.

“I know that the enormity of work that is required in Abia is a lot and I wouldn’t want distractions. I’ve stayed there long enough to know that whenever you start a probe, you begin to get distracted.”

“If you have taken any money, and it’s still with you, return it. But I’m actually not going to dissipate energy chasing real or imagined criminals, real or imagined looters, but I will not allow corruption.”

“I will not allow our money to be shared. I’ll like our money to be used to work for our people,” the Governor-Elect said.

He assured to pay doctors on strike, outstanding pensions and salaries of workers, to make Abia State the number best State for doing business, to attract both local and foreign investors and won’t be sharing positions unreasonably.

He concluded that his party and administration won’t pay a dime to those that didn’t do their work in the state.

“In labour party, we no dey give shishi for undone Job,” he said

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday March 22 declared Otti winner of the of the governorship election in Abia.

He polled a total of 175,467 votes to defeat Okey Ahiwe the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 88,529 votes and Enyinnaya Nwafor of YPP who came third with 28,972 votes.

He is the only LP’s candidate to be elected Governor-Elect in the just concluded governorship election and the first president of the party after 2o years.
