‘Why I Attempted To Commit Suicide By Plunging Into Third Mainland Bridge’ – Lagos Socialist, Farida Sobowale

Lagos Socialite, Farida Sobowale, has explained why she attempted to commit suicide by plunging into the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos on Thursday night, August 17.

In a viral voice note on social media, Farida said her marriage with another Lagos socialite, Demola Okulaja, that crashed two months after their N100 million wedding, caused her a lot of pain. She said after he walked out of their matrimonial home, she has been frustrated with many suicidal attempts.

“Friends and families warned me not to go into the marriage. They told me that the man only wanted my money but I was recalcitrant. It was love that pushed me into this. He told me that he was going to be with me, make me bore children for him.

“I am so sorry for putting my children in such a position. I would not have forgiven myself if I had abandoned them after committing suicide. I have forgiven my ex-husband. May God provide him with another wife,” she said

VerseNews reported that Farida was rescued by passersby on Thursday evening, August 17, while attempting to jump into the Lagoon.

She parked her SUV by the side of the bridge and attempted to jump into the Lagoon was quickly rescued by passersby.
