Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has revealed that he won the Imo State governorship primary election because of divine orchestration.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that Anyanwu emerged as the PDP governorship candidate without opposition during the primary election that took place in Owerri on Wednesday, April 13, 2023.

He received 802 ‘yes votes’ during the election. At the end of the exercise, Anyanwu expressed his unwavering devotion and dedication to God’s will.

Addressing the people of Imo and party loyalists, Anyanwu said “let God finish what he has started.”

“It’s with humility and the greatest sense of responsibility that I accept this divinely orchestrated nomination.”

He continued, “I’ll work with you and for you.

“I thank the Almighty God for his infinite mercies and I thank the leaders of our party in Imo for working hard to set the process that has brought about my emergence in motion.

“I pledge to pursue an issue-based campaign that would usher in a people-oriented government.
