Nigerian Afrobeats star, Davido has faced controversy over an alleged debt to businessman Abu Salami.

Salami claims to have paid N218 million for a football project aimed at nurturing talented children.

In a social media post, Salami accuses Davido of running away after receiving N218 million, leaving a N326 million contract unfinished.

He wrote; “Davido, I promise you, if you don’t pay the money you owe me, you will face problems after problems. You are a thief, Ole, Ole, Ole. The security you put mind for you see the beating Abi, no worry your cup is full. Son of a billionaire acting like a thug and thie, BASSTARD.”

Salami had prepared to travel to 20 states with an 11-person production team to scout young football talents, but Davido canceled the project.

The cancellation reportedly cost Salami 42 million naira, and he pleaded with Davido to promote the project, even in his garden, but the singer declined.
