A court has sentenced popular herbalist, Akwa Okuku Tiwaraki na Oba, to 11 months imprisonment following a prolonged legal battle that began after his arrest in February 2025.

The herbalist, whose real name is Nwangwu, pleaded guilty in court to charges linked to the practice of “Okeite,” a ritual pot method allegedly used to fortify criminals and aid unlawful activities.

In its ruling, the court also ordered the immediate destruction of his shrine located in Oba, as part of efforts to curb practices considered harmful to society.
