Nigerian actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has regained his freedom after spending more than three years in prison over allegations of sexual assault.
The actor was released on Friday, November 14, 2025, after the Court of Appeal cleared him of all charges related to the alleged incident.
His colleague, actor Yomi Fabiyi, announced the news on Instagram, celebrating the judgment and Baba Ijesha’s release.

Fabiyi wrote:
“You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is not just back but BETTER.
“I am also happy you were cleared by the Appeal Court of ever having sex/defiling any child or minor. The 7-year-old story is a charade. We live in a terrible world where sentiments and wickedness rise above the rule of law and truth.”
Baba Ijesha’s case had dominated headlines in 2021, sparking national debates over child protection, evidence standards, and justice in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
