Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, a controversial cross-dresser, has been sentenced to six months in prison without the option of a fine for charges related to the abuse of the Nigerian naira.
VerseNews reports that the judgment was delivered on Friday, April 12, 2024, by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
Justice Awogboro emphasized that the ruling would serve as a warning to others who misuse or mutilate the national currency. The case marks a significant step toward upholding the integrity of the naira and discouraging any form of abuse.
