- Achraf Hakimi emerged winner of the 2025 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award, finishing ahead of rivals Victor Osimhen and Mohamed Salah.
Achraf Hakimi has been crowned the 2025 Player of the Year by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), officially becoming Africa’s best footballer of the year.
The 27-year-old Moroccan defender, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), claimed the award ahead of Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah.
Hakimi’s triumph brings an end to the reign of Ademola Lookman, who won the honour in 2024.

The achievement marks a major milestone for Hakimi, who previously finished as runner-up for two consecutive years before finally securing the top prize.
