DJ Switch arrested and faces charges of assault and obstruction of police officers during an incident at a Lagos police station.

The situation arose from a dispute over the handling of a man she accused of defrauding her.

Popular Nigerian DJ Obianuju Catherine Udeh, known as DJ Switch, has reportedly been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly assaulting and obstructing police officers on duty.

VerseNews reports that DJ Switch was on her way to the Magistrate Court in Eti-Osa to be arraigned on these charges.

Sources reveal that DJ Switch visited the police in Elemoro, Ajah, on Monday, April 15, to report a man who allegedly defrauded her, leading to his arrest.

Subsequently, DJ Switch was invited to the police station on Wednesday, April 17, to discuss whether the man should be charged in court or released on bail, in line with the legal requirement not to detain an accused for more than 48 hours.

The situation escalated when DJ Switch insisted that the accused make a public apology, but the man declined.

The police chose to bring the case to court due to the deadlock between the parties. As officers prepared to transport the accused to court, DJ Switch allegedly blocked the police station’s entrance with her vehicle and assaulted female officers involved in the case.

As a result, DJ Switch was arrested and faces charges of obstructing police on duty, resisting arrest, and assaulting officers.

Meanwhile, the accused man has been taken to court and remanded in prison custody.
