Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has vowed not flee the country over fear that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after his tenure expires on May 29, 2023.
VerseNews Nigeria gathered that the EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa in a statement said that the agency would apprehend corrupt governors whose tenures end on May 29.
Speaking during an interview with “Channels TV” on Monday March 27, 2023, Wike confidentl say will has no reason to run away from the commission and will never do such.

He added that if he is invoted for any questioning or investigation, he would gladly honor them
“I’m not going to run away because of the EFCC. Why should they invite me? If they invite me, I will honour their invitation. I will not run away,” Wike affirmed.
This Online News Media understands that abroad has become a hidden place for some Nigerian leaders to hide themselves at the end of their tenure.
But the governor’s comments suggest that he is confident in his record and has nothing to fear from the EFCC’s investigations.
