‘I’m Ready to Have a Child Outside Marriage:’ Mercy Eke Declares (Video)

• BBNaija star Mercy Eke has revealed she is prepared to become a mother outside marriage, saying she can comfortably raise up to three children on her own.

BBNaija 2019 winner, Mercy Eke, has opened up about motherhood as she disclosed that she is ready to have a child outside marriage.

In a recent interview, Mercy Eke revealed that she feels capable of raising children independently and is prepared to have up to three kids on her own.

In her words; “I’m ready to have a child outside marriage, this year I wanted to have a baby, something happened and I had to choose between that and the baby.

At this point, I think if I get pregnant now, I’m just going to have my baby. I have worked so hard, and I think I can take care of myself and three kids. I’m a goal-oriented person that always sets things ahead for myself.”

Mercy Eke also addressed societal perceptions, noting that the stigma often attached to having children out of wedlock usually targets people who are financially struggling. She argued that her position allows her to make such a choice without concern.

“For me, what people don’t know is all this stigma of having kids without a father is only applied to people who don’t have things going on well for them,” she added.

Speaking about her love life, Mercy revealed that although marriage is an option, she has not yet met the man she truly desires. She added that if she wanted to get married tomorrow, she easily could, but she hasn’t found the right person.

The former BBNaija winner also noted that while some men want to marry her for enjoyment, she believes that even if she has a child, she will still meet the right partner.
