  • Acting INEC Chair May Agbamuche-Mbu has met with leaders of political parties ahead of the Anambra governorship election, her first engagement since taking over from Mahmood Yakubu.

The Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), May Agbamuche-Mbu, on Tuesday met with the chairmen and secretaries of political parties at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting forms part of INEC’s ongoing stakeholder consultations ahead of the Anambra governorship election scheduled for November.

While details of the discussions were not immediately disclosed, the session was designed to address grey areas, review logistics, and strengthen collaboration between the commission and political parties to ensure a credible and transparent poll.

This is the first meeting presided over by Agbamuche-Mbu since assuming office on October 7, following the exit of Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who proceeded on terminal leave.
