- Nollywood star Omoni Oboli and Afro-Gospel singer Gaise Baba emerged as the biggest winners on YouTube Nigeria’s 2025 Top Lists, claiming the Number 1 creator and music video spots respectively.

Nollywood powerhouse Omoni Oboli and Afro-Gospel sensation Gaise Baba have emerged as the biggest winners on YouTube Nigeria’s 2025 Top Lists, claiming the Number 1 creator and Number 1 music video positions in a year that celebrated faith, consistency, and cultural impact.
At the official unveiling of the YouTube Nigeria 2025 charts, Omoni Oboli’s channel, Omoni Oboli TV, clinched the top spot on the Top 10 Creators List, reaffirming Nollywood’s growing dominance in the digital streaming space. On the music front, Gaise Baba’s spiritually charged hit, “No Turning Back II” featuring Lawrence Oyor, secured the Number 1 position on the Top 10 Music Videos list, standing out as the only Gospel song to make the ranking.
Speaking on the emotional weight of their achievements, Omoni Oboli described the moment as deeply humbling. “I feel amazing. I feel blessed. I feel like God just decided to show off and he picked me,” she said.
Gaise Baba echoed similar sentiments, describing his win as a moment of fulfillment. “I feel grateful, to be honest. I feel fulfilled.”
Reflecting on her YouTube journey, Omoni Oboli revealed that while her success may appear sudden, it was the result of years of planning and patience. Though her channel is not yet two years old, she disclosed that the idea of going digital had crossed her mind over a decade ago before finally taking shape in 2023 after months of research and reflection.
She attributed her success to consistency and an uncompromising commitment to quality. According to her, the decision to release a full movie every Friday and maintain cinema-level production standards helped set her channel apart. “I’m playing the long game,” she said, stressing that she refused to lower quality simply because YouTube is a free platform.
The movie Love in Every Word eventually became the breakthrough project that pushed the channel to the top, despite being one of the most stressful productions she had worked on. Omoni recalled releasing it without fanfare, only to wake up to overwhelming viewership numbers. She described the success as entirely organic, noting that the channel has never paid for YouTube promotions.
Gaise Baba, on his part, shed light on the creative process behind “No Turning Back II.” He explained that the viral momentum began even before the song’s official release, driven by curiosity around his collaboration with Pastor Lawrence Oyor and the contrasting images they represent.

The music video, which was shot spontaneously after a church service in Ibadan, benefited from strategic timing and anticipation. Gaise Baba revealed that the decision to release the song early in the morning played a key role in its rapid growth, with the video amassing hundreds of thousands of views within its first day.

Linking his success to faith, Gaise Baba described the achievement as a reflection of what he calls “supernatural speed,” noting that while success may appear sudden, it is often the result of years of unseen preparation.
Looking ahead, Omoni Oboli hinted at the possibility of a third installment of Love in Every Word, responding to strong audience demand. Gaise Baba confirmed plans for a major Lagos homecoming concert and announced that he is working on a new album expected in 2026, tentatively titled God Is Cooking.
Both creators ended the event with heartfelt gratitude. Gaise Baba dedicated his win to his late parents, while Omoni Oboli thanked her family, cast, crew, and faith community.
The 2025 YouTube Nigeria Top Lists unveiling ultimately highlighted how patience, purpose, and quality continue to shape the future of African digital creators.
