Erik Ten Hag has provided an update on the injury front ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League match with Burnley at Turf Moor.
VersSports reports that Ten Hag during a press conference at Carrington was asked about the potential availability of Raphael Varane, Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat, Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire, with the suggestion the latter could be closest to a return after he did not travel to Germany for the Bayern Munich defeat, due to feeling some discomfort after training.
“Maybe, as you say, Harry Maguire,” replied Ten Hag.
“We will see better after training [on Friday afternoon]. But Varane will train and we will see. Amrabat, he will train and we will see. Mount, as well, but they all didn’t play for a short or longer term.
“Varane, obviously, was the shortest [time] out.”
He confirmed Jadon Sancho will not be in the squad, while the likes of Malacia, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Amad and Antony are still unavailable.
Young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo only returned to individual training this week, after sustaining an injury during the pre-season friendly with Real Madrid.
The Reds will face Burnley in the Premier League clash on Saturday and in the Carabao Cup with Crystal Palace on Tuesday.
