President Tinubu Advices State Governors On Political Differences

Tinubu in his advices urges the state governors to prioritize governance over political differences.

President Bola Tinubu has issued a call to action, urging state governors to transcend political divides and unite in collaborative efforts to advance the nation’s development agenda.

Speaking during a Ramadan fast-breaking event with governors at the State House in Abuja, President Tinubu emphasized the imperative of transitioning from political rhetoric to effective governance, stressing the importance of unity and cooperation among all stakeholders.

VerseNews reports that in a statement released by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu underscored the shared familial ties and collective responsibility to foster national cohesion, urging mutual respect and solidarity among leaders.

“Since we recognize the need to build our nation together, the time for politics is over. It is now time for governance.”

”We are of the same family and parents, living in the same house, but sleeping in different rooms. We must cooperate and spread love among each other,” the President was quoted to have said in a statement signed by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale.

He emphasized that the time for political posturing is over, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts towards collective progress and prosperity.

Reflecting on the significance of the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten season for Christians, President Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to embrace the spirit of introspection, prayer, and altruism towards others.

Also, He highlighted the transformative power of empathy and compassion in fostering social harmony and national development.

However, President Tinubu expressed optimism about the future, citing positive indicators of progress resulting from ongoing policy interventions. He reassured citizens that the government is diligently addressing pressing issues, signaling hope for a brighter future ahead.

Meanwhile,Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq commended the federal government’s proactive measures, particularly the distribution of 42,000 tons of grains, in addressing food security challenges.

He emphasized the importance of synergy between the national and sub-national governments in tackling shared concerns and promoting inclusive growth.

Governor AbdulRazaq also underscored the commitment of state governments to prioritize the welfare of workers, affirming their resolve to fulfill wage obligations.

Furthermore, he urged fellow governors to actively engage in farming activities to better understand the challenges faced by rural communities and ensure a successful harvest season.

“Wet season farming is almost here, and I want to implore all governors to engage in the farming business, so that we can all appreciate the challenges of ordinary farmers and ensure that we have a bumper harvest at the end of the farming season,” the NGF Chairman said.
