The former senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye, has challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on the transparency and authentic of the results announced at the collation centre in Abuja.
VerseNews Nigeria reports that on a live transmission, Dino appealed to the INEC Chairman Prof. Mahood Yakubu to display the results in the INEC Result Verification (IReV) portal for verification by the other agents and for Nigerians to see.
The INEC chairman replied that the verification process should be done at the state level and not at the federal level.

He added that results from Returning Officers must have verified the results before submitting them to the collation centre.
Some party agents present at the collation centre backed Dino on his suggestion for the result to be displayed and verified with what the Returning Officers are submitting.
INEC could not comply with their request at the mement.
