- Nigeria’s Super Falcons have revealed a brand-new jersey featuring 10 stars around the team’s badge to celebrate their record-breaking WAFCON triumphs as they prepare to chase an unprecedented 11th continental title in Morocco.

Nigeria’s senior women’s national football team, the Super Falcons, have unveiled a striking new jersey featuring 10 stars surrounding the team’s badge as they prepare for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
The newly designed kit, which celebrates Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football, was revealed on Thursday and immediately attracted attention from football fans across the continent.

According to ESON Africa, which shared the unveiling on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, each of the 10 stars represents one of the Super Falcons’ 10 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations titles, making the team the most successful side in the history of the competition.
The symbolic design highlights Nigeria’s remarkable legacy in African women’s football and reflects the team’s ambition to continue extending its record on the continental stage.
First Appearance in Victory Over Tanzania
The Super Falcons debuted the special jersey during their international friendly against Tanzania’s Twiga Stars on Thursday.
Justin Madugu’s side came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory, giving the team a confidence boost ahead of the start of the continental tournament.
The friendly served as part of Nigeria’s final preparations before travelling to Morocco, where the team will attempt to defend its continental crown.
10 Stars Represent 10 African Titles
The stars displayed around the national team’s crest are more than just a design feature—they represent Nigeria’s extraordinary achievements in African women’s football.
Each star commemorates one of the country’s 10 WAFCON championships, underlining the Super Falcons’ long-standing dominance in the competition.
Over the years, Nigeria has consistently established itself as Africa’s most successful women’s football nation, producing generations of talented players who have excelled both on the continent and internationally.
The new jersey serves as a reminder of that rich history while motivating the current squad to write another chapter in the team’s success story.
Eyes Set on Historic 11th WAFCON Title
With the new jersey unveiled, head coach Justin Madugu and his players will now shift their full attention to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where they will be aiming to win a record-extending 11th continental title.
The tournament officially kicks off on Saturday in Morocco, with the Super Falcons entering the competition as one of the favourites to lift the trophy once again.
Nigeria will begin the defence of its title against tournament debutants Malawi on Tuesday at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat.
A victory in Morocco would further cement the Super Falcons’ status as Africa’s greatest women’s football team and strengthen their position as the continent’s most decorated national side.
Football fans will also be hoping the team’s new jersey becomes another symbol of success as Nigeria bids to bring home yet another WAFCON trophy.
