A video trending online has captured the moment rival fans staged a mock candlelight procession for Chelsea FC following their heavy 8–2 aggregate defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the 2025–26 UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
PSG sealed qualification for the quarter-finals after dominating both legs of the tie. The French side recorded a 5–2 victory in the first leg at the Parc des Princes on March 11, before completing the rout with a 3–0 win at Stamford Bridge on March 17.
Goals in the second leg came from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola, and Senny Mayulu, sealing one of Chelsea’s heaviest aggregate defeats in European competition. Kvaratskhelia stood out across both legs with an impressive attacking performance.

The result has been widely described as disappointing for Chelsea, with fans expressing frustration during and after the matches.
In the aftermath, a group of rival fans at a local viewing centre were seen holding candles in what appeared to be a symbolic “mourning” procession for the club. In the viral clip, they marched in a line while chanting in Yoruba, “Oro nla leda,” while mocking Chelsea supporters over the defeat.
The fans also sang a rendition of the gospel song “Aopade lese Jesu,” further dramatizing the moment as the video sparked mixed reactions across social media.
Several users reacted humorously to the clip, with many describing the scene as typical of the lively and often dramatic atmosphere at football viewing centres.
