- Neymar’s father made a heartbreaking request from the Brazilian superstar after Brazil’s heartbreaking World Cup exit, delivering an emotional message as the 34-year-old hinted his international career is over.

Neymar’s father has made an emotional appeal to his son to continue playing football following Brazil’s shock exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Brazilian icon was left in tears after Brazil suffered a 2-1 defeat to Norway in the Round of 16, a result that is widely expected to mark the end of his international career.
As emotions ran high after the final whistle, Neymar’s father delivered a heartfelt message to the 34-year-old.
“My request to you, Ney: keep playing football, please.”
Neymar, who scored Brazil’s late consolation goal from the penalty spot, later suggested his journey with the national team had come to an end.
“I tried, I tried. Now it’s over. I started here, I finished here,” he said after the match.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain forward bows out as Brazil’s all-time leading goalscorer, with 80 goals in 130 appearances.
While Neymar appears ready to close the chapter on his international career, his father hopes the football legend will continue playing at club level despite the heartbreaking World Cup farewell.
