The Lagos State Taskforce, in its ongoing efforts to eliminate the menace of okada (motorcycles), has impounded 160 motorcycles in a large-scale clampdown in various areas, including Berger, FESTAC, Apple Junction, and Berger in Lagos.
VerseNews reports that the operation, led by the Chairman of the Agency, CSP Shola Jejeloye, emphasizes the strict enforcement of the ban on okada operations in the state.
Jejeloye stated that the agency will continue to take decisive actions against okada operators who defy the ban, emphasizing the importance of compliance for the safety and orderliness of the state.
“Okada operations have been banned and banned for good. It is high time operators look for a different line of legitimate work or have their bikes impounded and also risk fines or jail terms. There is no room for okada operations in Lagos,” he said.
The Chairman assured Lagosians that the mop-up exercise of okada activities and others that go against the THEMES PLUS Agenda of the state government would be continuous and deliberate until safety and serenity are completely attained in the metropolis.
