- Nigerian singer Davido has condemned the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the deadly attack on a church in Kwara State, describing the tragedies as painful and unacceptable.
Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed deep sorrow over the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the attack on a church in Kwara State, calling both incidents heartbreaking and unacceptable.
VerseNews had reported that the Kwara State Police Command confirmed on Tuesday that suspected bandits killed at least two people and injured another during attacks in Eruku, a boundary community in the Ekiti Local Government Area.
A parish of the Christ Apostolic Church was invaded during service, with a disturbing livestream of the attack now circulating on social media.
Earlier on Tuesday, gunmen stormed the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School, Maga, in the Danko-Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, abducting 25 schoolgirls and killing the school’s Vice Principal, Hassan Yakubu Makuku.

Reacting in a statement shared on his social media pages on Wednesday, Davido said his “heart goes out to the young girls kidnapped in Kebbi State and to their families,” stressing that no family deserves such pain.
He urged Nigerians to remain united in combating insecurity and to keep pushing toward a nation where children can live without fear.
“As Nigerians, we must stand together in unity and continue working towards a country where every child can grow up in safety and hope,” he wrote.
Davido also condemned the attack in Kwara State, describing it as deeply saddening.
“I am also deeply saddened by the tragic attack on the church in Kwara State. I pray for the families who lost loved ones and for everyone affected by this heartbreaking incident. These acts of violence must never become our norm,” he said.
He further urged security agencies and anyone with credible information to assist in efforts to rescue the abducted girls.

“Everything must be done to bring the Kebbi girls home safely. I urge anyone with credible information to come forward in whatever safe and responsible way they can, so it can support ongoing efforts to rescue them,” he added.
The singer prayed for the safe return of the abducted students and consolation for grieving families in Kwara State.
“May God watch over the girls until they return. May He comfort the grieving families in Kwara, bring peace to our nation, and put every sponsor of violence and disorder to shame,” Davido said.
