- Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi says he holds a video showing how singer Mohbad was allegedly killed and has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene, accusing some police officers of intimidation.
Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has claimed to be in possession of a video he describes as showing how singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, was killed.
In a social media video posted on Thursday, Fabiyi also directly appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the matter. He said part of the video had been sent to him in an apparent attempt to extort him.
“President Bola Tinubu, I wrote to you in May 2025 that Mohbad was murdered. Part of the video was sent to me in an apparent attempt to extort me. Your office wrote and gave a directive to the Inspector General of Police that they should investigate, harmonise, and prosecute,” Fabiyi stated.

He alleged that investigators at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja had reviewed the case file and identified key suspects in an alleged cover-up. Fabiyi further claimed that the wife of the deceased had turned herself in, but efforts were being made to cover up the case.

“As of November 2025, after the FCID in Abuja noted key suspects already complicit in the alleged cover-up, the wife of the deceased turned herself in Abuja. Now they want to cover it up. They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests,” he said.

Fabiyi accused some police officers of attempting to intimidate him because of the evidence he claims to hold. “This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you. I don’t know why it is wrong to be loyal to your government. I am putting my life on the line to stand by this government and to speak the truth,” he added.
His video quickly drew reactions on social media, with many users urging him to hand over the alleged evidence to investigators rather than making emotional appeals online.
