- Following her release by police, Pastor Chris Okafor reportedly knelt before Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, pleading for peace amid an ongoing legal battle over alleged breach of promise.

Following the release of Nollywood actress Doris Ogala by the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos, reports claim that Pastor Chris Okafor of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries (Grace Nation Liberation City) knelt before the actress and pleaded for peace.
Ogala was reportedly rearrested in Abuja shortly after being granted bail and escorted to Lagos by officers from the Zone 2 Command, sparking widespread public concern. During the arrest, sources allege that her lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, attempted to document the event but was attacked by police, and his phones were seized before Ogala was flown to Lagos.
Intervention reportedly came from the Take It Back (TIB) Movement, whose coordinator, Jamiu Towolawi (Jharmo), arrived at Zone 2 Command demanding Ogala’s immediate release. He later stood as her surety, insisting she be freed.
A source told SaharaReporters that Pastor Okafor later met Ogala privately during the release process and allegedly knelt to beg her to allow peace to prevail. The meeting, reportedly lasting nearly an hour, took place in a secluded area with no third parties present.
“Dramatically, Pastor Chris Okafor, who was at the centre of her arrest and the controversy, arrived at Onikan and pleaded with her to allow peace to reign. It was obvious her arrest was instigated to intimidate her, and upon seeing she was unwilling to back down, the pastor reportedly knelt and begged,” the source said.

Following the meeting, Ogala was released on health grounds, with Jharmo acting as surety. The police also returned the two phones previously seized from her lawyer. While officers reportedly requested deletion of the arrest video, the TIB leader rejected the condition, and Ogala was allowed to leave freely.

The arrest is linked to allegations that Pastor Okafor reneged on a promise to marry Ogala. Her legal team, Synergy Law Partners, has issued a demand letter seeking ₦1 billion in damages for breach of promise and aggravated harm.
Ogala alleges that the relationship began in 2017 when she sought pastoral counselling and relied on Okafor’s assurances of marriage to make major life decisions, including leaving a troubled marriage and entrusting him with ₦45 million. Her lawyers insist there is substantial evidence, including photographs, videos, messages, and banking records.
Despite reported attempts at reconciliation by the cleric, the legal dispute remains unresolved. Ogala has not withdrawn her claims, and her demand letter reportedly gives Pastor Okafor 21 days to respond before further legal action is taken.
