The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, wanted over alleged criminal conspiracy, abuse of office and diversion of public funds
The anti-graft agency announced the development in a wanted notice published on its official website on Saturday.
According to the notice, Farouq, 52, is an indigene of Zamfara State, with her last known address listed as EN 008, Okpo River, off Agulu Street, Maitama, Abuja.
The notice, signed by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, called on members of the public to provide useful information that could lead to her arrest.
“The public is hereby notified that Sadiya Umar Farouq, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in an alleged case of Criminal Conspiracy, Abuse of Office, Diversion of Public Funds,” the statement read.
The commission urged anyone with relevant information on her whereabouts to contact any of its offices across the country, including those in Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt and Abuja.

It also advised the public to contact the nearest police station, call 08093322644, or send information through its official email address.
Farouq served as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development under former President Muhammadu Buhari between 2019 and 2023.
