Labour in meeting with FG

The Nigerian government, through the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), has invited leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria for a meeting in Abuja to discuss the ongoing nationwide strike.

VerseNews reports that the meeting is taking place at the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA.

Thosee present in the meeting include the Minister of Labour, Simon Lalong, and the Minister of State for Labour, Nkeiruka Onyeajocha.

The labour leaders, led by TUC President Festus Osifo and NLC Secretary-General Emmanuel Ugboaja,

Labour unions had earlier presented six demands, including the arrest and prosecution of those involved in the attack on NLC President Joe Ajaero in Owerri, Imo State.

The strike began on Tuesday in response to the attack on Ajaero.
