Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, Mr. Festus Keyamo, emphasized his commitment to performing in his role and called for support from stakeholders.

Keyamo mentioned signing a performance bond with other ministers in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.

He stated that the CEOs of aviation agencies in his ministry will either survive or get sacked, making it a race to determine who remains.

“We had a three-day retreat with Mr. President, all the Ministers. At the end of the day, we signed a performance bond. I also signed my performance bond yesterday. So, if you don’t want me to get sacked in the next few months, you need to support me,” he said.

Facing the CEOs of Aviation agencies in attendance, he said, “On this side, it is either I get sacked or they get sacked. So, it is a race to who will survive. That’s what I have told all my CEOs, somebody must die first but before I die I will take you down.”

VerseNews reports that Keyamo spoke at a stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos, where he sought input from industry experts.

He said the purpose of the retreat was to receive inputs from you as technocrats and players in the industry.

He highlighted his activities since taking office and mentioned plans to overhaul the old international terminal in Lagos and construct a second runway for Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

He assured that the benefits of the second runway would provide economic advantages to the nation.
