Labour Party chairman, Julius Abure escapes assassination attempt, his house engulfed by mysterious fire.
In a shocking turn of events, the Labour Party (LP) has announced that its national chairman, Julius Abure, narrowly escaped an attempt on his life.
VerseNews reports that Obiora Ifoh, the LP’s national publicity secretary, revealed that Abure’s home in Abuja was engulfed in flames around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, in what appears to be a deliberate attack.
According to Ifoh’s statement, “The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barrister Julius Abure, early this morning allegedly escaped an assassination attempt on him at his Abuja residence.”
The incident unfolded as Abure and his family slept peacefully, only to be awakened by the terrifying sight of their home ablaze.
Trapped by the fire, Abure and his family faced a harrowing ordeal until neighbors and security personnel intervened.
“It took divine intervention for the national chairman and his family to escape,” Ifoh remarked, recounting how they were eventually rescued through a window by courageous efforts from those nearby.
Despite the chaos, prompt action from the Fire Service helped contain the blaze after Abure and his family were safely evacuated.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, leaving many questions unanswered as investigations into the incident unfold.
